Na verlede week se verloor is ek is so bietjie bekommerd
in Hamilton.
Afrikaanse konferensie wil eindig!

Predictions on the Tahs match:
- This game is very important for both sides but for
contrasting reasons! The Bulls would like to
remain conference leaders, whereas the
Waratahs know that if they lose one more game
this season, they will not be able to qualify for the
last six! The Bulls must have the edge given their
superior records against the men from Sydney.
Waratahs have not beaten the Bulls since 2004,
which includes two Bulls wins in Sydney.
Our prediction is our Bulls by 12.
The Bulls moved to the top of a very congested Super Rugby table,
with their depth ensuring the three-time champions could
overcome a number of potentially crippling injuries.
Having still hovered in the wildcard places a fortnight ago, the Bulls
first moved past the Stormers to top the South African conference
and then overtook the Chiefs on the global standings this past
weekend - after the New Zealand leaders lost to the Reds.
The Bulls achieved all this while injuries and compassionate leave
robbed them of players like loose forwards Jacques Potgieter
(dislocated knee cap) and Deon Stegmann (fractured forearm),
props Frik Kirsten (fractured hand) and Dean Greyling (returned
home to be with his wife for the birth of their first child), as well as
centre Wynand Olivier (injured ribs).
However, their conveyor belt of quality replacements have brought
in players like Dewald Potgieter (who himself has just returned
from a hamstring injury), Dawie Steyn, Greyling and veteran Rayno
Gerber (flown over after Kirsten was injured).
Depth puts our Bulls in pole position
|
Steyn managed five conversions and two
penalties, and did not miss a shot at goal, as
the Bulls won their fourth successive match.
"It was pretty exciting from the stands, high
intensity, good attacking from both sides,
maybe not the best defensively from us but
good to get the win," Bulls captain Pierre
Spies said.
"We needed these points," he added of the
victory that propelled them to the top of the
South African conference on 42 points, one
ahead of the Stormers who have a bye.

Our Vodacom Bulls lock Wilhelm Steenkamp will start at lock
in his side’s final Super Rugby tour match against the Chiefs
in Hamilton on Friday.
The 46-capped player will swop places with regular lock
Juandré Kruger in the only change to the side that came up
short against the Highlanders in Dunedin last weekend.
Kruger will play off the bench in this rotational switch, with
Steenkamp, who started against the Lions in week eight,
combining with Flip van der Merwe in the engine room.
Dewald Potgieter and CJ Stander, who sustained injuries in
the 16-11 defeat in the Forsyth Barr Stadium, has recovered
and will take their places in the loose trio.
“We have a rotational policy and have a buy-in from all the
players about it. Wilhelm has played very well of the bench
this far in the competition, so I have no problem in starting
him. ” Ludeke said.
